Your VCI (Vibe Compatibility Index) isn't a random rating. It's a calibrated 1-10 probability score derived from an ordinal-Bayesian model that tracks real human swipe intent.
How It's Actually Calculated
Real Swipe Intent
We don't use 5-star ratings. Voters choose Pass, Unsure, Maybe, or Yes. This mirrors the actual split-second decisions people make on dating apps.
Vibe Priors
Your score starts with a baseline based on your chosen archetypes (e.g. "Adventurer", "Creative"). This gives the model context before the first vote is cast.
Reliability Weighting
Not all votes are equal. Our engine weighs "serious" voters more heavily and applies a time-decay, so recent trends matter more than old data.
MRP Correction
Multilevel Regression & Post-stratification. If your voters skew too young or too old, we mathematically rebalance the score to match your true target demographic.
Deciphering Your Score
Your profile is performing well. Minor optimizations possible.
Good foundation. Clear opportunities to improve.
Specific changes will make a real difference.
Significant issues — but usually fixable with a few swaps.
* Note: Because of our strict calibration, a 7.2 is actually a very strong score. "Grade inflation" doesn't exist here.
Beyond The Number
Photo Attribution (λ)
We calculate exactly how much your Main Photo is driving your score vs. your overall bio/stats. "Main photo: 62% of appeal" tells you exactly where to focus.
Polarization Score
Is your profile "Safe" (everyone agrees) or "Polarizing" (love/hate)? A polarizing profile often yields better matches than a generic "safe" one.
Expected Lift
We don't guess. We predict: "Swapping photo #3 for a social shot is expected to raise VCI by +0.8."
Confidence Interval
We show our math. A score of "7.2 (Confidence: 92%)" is solid. "7.2 (Confidence: 40%)" means we need more data before you panic.
